I am a Specialist Psychiatrist at Ain Shams University. I hold two Master’s degrees, the first being in Psychiatry, from the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al Ainy, Cairo University, and the second in Childhood Studies, Care for Special Needs Children, from the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies, Medical Studies Department, Ain Shams University in Egypt. I am also a member of the ECPs (Early Career Psychiatrists) section in WPA (World Psychiatric Association).
I have been practicing Psychiatry and Psychotherapy for more than seven years with a special interest in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, I specialize in Care and Rehabilitation for children living with special needs.
Since 2013 I have been working as a Specialist Psychiatrist in the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies and Special Needs Children Rehabilitation Centre at Ain Shams University. My training took place as a Psychiatrist in New Castle General Hospital in the UK in 2012 and also my Psychiatry Residency in Egypt in Kasr Al Ainy Psychiatry and Addiction Hospital, Cairo University (2013-2017).
My aim is to support my clients in their journey of personal development, overcoming traumatic experiences and stressful life challenges, achieving a better quality of life, and treating mental health challenges and psychiatric disorders.
I believe that psychotherapy is the essence of management plans in psychiatry. I best support my patients’ difficulties by using different modalities of psychotherapy techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Psychotherapy, Self-Esteem Psychotherapy, Child Behavioral Therapy, Family, and Couples therapy. With this, I believe the role of psychiatric medications is crucial for some patients in combination with psychotherapy to achieve the best treatment results.
